

These occur in around 0.3% of the population, the vast majority do not cause any problems and do not require treatment. Usually small, they are abnormal lumps of blood vessels resembling a mulberry, that can sometimes cause a symptomatic bleed in the brain, or seizures, and very rarely when large they can present with mass effective. Management requires appropriate counseling for the patient and guidance on best management, which rarely requires surgery of any kind.
